eSUB’s Integration with Sage 300 CRE Accounting Software
eSUB is excited to announce our new integration with Sage 300 CRE (formerly Timberline). eSUB Users have long expressed an interest in making project management as simple as possible. Integrating software systems to work together is one way of accomplishing this and now eSUB and Sage 300 have teamed up to do so. When you have multiple different software systems that work in silos, you can’t maximize your time or efficiency because of having to enter the same data into multiple systems. Integration with Sage 300 will link the field to the office so that project management and accounting can share data in ways that were never possible before. This open line of communication is accounted for through the following project manager’s perspective.
From a PM’s Perspective
Before I would put in the same information as Accounting-double entry. It was such a headache when we had different numbers or there was wrong information. We didn’t realize it was wrong until later, then had to go back to correct mistakes, besides the fact that we were both doing the same work.
My other option was trying to get ahold of accounting or someone else in the office for questions, but that could take a while and sometimes I couldn’t get ahold of them fast enough.
This was an annoying, if not costly, part of the job before, but now I can bypass this to get everything I need. I pull up anything related to the project, including all emails, whether that’s on site or when I have a spare second on my phone. I want to be able to make decisions on the go- that’s what I do all day- so having access to the latest info is really helpful.
Since I can push my cost codes, materials, employees, contacts and vendors into eSUB from Sage, I know I have the right information and I don’t have to waste time putting the information in. The cost codes are tedious and I don’t want to make a mistake that will mess up project information down the line.
I also need to have all the information when my boss asks for an update. Before I would have to guess or give an estimate on the fly, which wasn’t fun for either of us. I love being able to just pull everything up in seconds and give him the exact figures. We have better information and I’m not under the gun to give a good “guesstimate.”
I want to do the best job I can as easily as I can. The more productive and efficient I am the better. So anything that helps make my job easier is great for me- and my company. We’re always trying to improve communication between the many moving parts of a project, and having a cloud-based project management solution has helped us do that.
