As eSUB Construction Software continues to get bigger and better, it’s incredible to reflect on all that our team has accomplished this past year to deliver a premium level of support and services to skilled trade contractors. Earlier this year, we secured a $12M Series B investment from Catalyst Investors and our existing investor Revolution Ventures. Both Catalyst Investors and Revolution Ventures serve as our true partners committed to the mission of eSUB to empower the hard-working, skilled trade contractors. With their guidance and those of our new executive team members, Chief Operating Officer Matt Belkin and Chief Technology Officer Angelina Hendricks, we are scaling our team so that we can continue to raise the bar on what trade contractors should expect from construction technology.

We conduct regular Customer and Product Engagement Surveys to gather feedback and discover areas of improvement. In this year’s surveys, we were thrilled to hear that Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Engineers using eSUB experience tremendous time savings:

— 40% save 1 hour per day

— 27% save 2 hours per day

— 7% save 3 hours per day

— 10% save 4 hours per day

 

Those time savings are attributed to the subcontractor-specific workflows and the ability to gather valuable data from the field. While technology adoption is generally more difficult for the field team, 81% of Field Supervisors would recommend eSUB to a colleague. This is because of our ongoing focus on making our mobile applications as simple and easy to use. Because of the benefits that the Operations team experiences using eSUB, 70% of Owners/Senior Executives believe that eSUB delivers above average and excellent value.

 

For the third consecutive time, Gartner’s Software Advice has recognized eSUB as a leader in usability and customer satisfaction in construction project management software. Continued Product Innovations to Empower Trade Contractors

Because our customers submit suggested enhancements to drive product development, eSUB is the ONLY construction project management platform that is 100% built by Trade Contractors. Our Chief Technology Officer Angelina Hendricks joined eSUB six months ago. In that short time, she has quickly scaled her team to deliver product features more quickly, and we had a record-breaking year in terms of enhancements delivered. Many of the major innovations we delivered solve problems that other construction project management systems made for general contractors do not address.  

 

My Schedule for Mobile Workforce Management – The addition of My Schedule in the eSUB Time mobile app delivers schedule information and real-time updates directly to employees, further streamlining field to office communications. Employees know exactly where they need to be and what they need to be working on.

 

Submittals Update – Managing submittals and the thousands of submittal items is a tedious and time-intensive process for many trade contractors. We worked closely with our customer advisory board to update the eSUB Submittals module to streamline the submittal creation process. The new Submittal Items Log creates, tracks, and manages submittal items at the detailed level that trade contractors need for proactive construction project management.

 

Integrations – As a best-in-class solution to manage construction operations, eSUB integrates with other accounting and drawing management solutions. The integration between eSUB and Sage 300 CRE (formerly Timberline) includes the ability for the bi-directional synchronization of purchase orders. Regardless if a Purchase Order originates with the Accounting team in Sage or the Operations team in eSUB, both departments will be on the same page and don’t need to re-enter information manually.

 

The eSUB team continues to enhance its integrations with PlanGrid® and BIM 360® construction software from Autodesk®. Deeper integration with PlanGrid and BIM 360 delivers the embedded drawing management capabilities that trade contractors need from eSUB in a seamless workflow.

 

More importantly, we set the stage for the next generation of the eSUB platform on an updated architecture with an improved User Experience (UX). The updated new user interface is the first phase of enhancements toward a more modern, mobile, and flexible solution. More to come in 2020 as we build upon these exciting new product innovations.

This year we expanded eSUB Academy to include consultative services to empower trade contractors in improving all aspects of their business. Our industry experts, Jeff Sample and Ed Coffin, collectively share over 60 years of first-hand construction experience from installing conduit, preparing estimates and schedules, and developing network infrastructure to managing technical and business operations at the executive level. Ed and Jeff offer introductory consultative sessions to lend a listening ear and provide objective guidance as trusted peers and subject matter experts.
